results of the meaning extension of “ (elder brother)”are transformation or shift ;the ways are metonymy or metaphor ;

the manifestation modes of the grammaticalization of 哥are suffixization and detachment of semantic elements． The ‘persis-
ted ’semantic elements directly affect what emotional colors are added to 哥;and the profiling and hiding of semantic ele-
ments are based on the conceptual knowledge structure．
