UCLA-CDS Medical Training Program ~July 13th –September 5th, 2014 (8 weeks)~ PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS The CDS Medical Training Program is a unique course designed for international medical students who would like to learn about American teaching in medicine, while improving their English ability. • Students will enroll in the CDS Medical Training Program at UCLA Summer Session and will obtain 8 units from UCLA. Students will enter US on F-1 student visa. • Students will engage in the American ways of teaching and learn new knowleges in academic classes taught by three UCLA Professors. • Students will improve their specialized vocabulary in medicine, English reading, English writing and English speaking fluency through the Medical English class taught by professionals. • Student will have the opportunity to network with other biomedical professionals from UCLA and around the globe, including professors, undergraduate and graduate students. • Student will have the opportunity to network with other biomedical professionals from UCLA and around the globe, including professors, undergraduate and graduate students. • Students will also enjoy the summer in the dynamic cultural environment of sunny Los Angeles! 1 CURRICULUM (8 Weeks) Week 1: • Program orientation and welcome session • Lectures, Discussions, and English courses week1 • Campus tour Week 2 • Introduction to UCLA Medical School • Lectures, Discussions, and English courses week 2 • Beach day in Santa Monica with CSST summer students Weeks 3 • Introduction to UCLA Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center • Lectures, Discussions, and English courses week 3 • Tour UCLA Medical Cente
