L iaon ing P rov inc ia l H ighw ay Survey D esign Comp any, L iaon ing Shenyang 110 166, China) A bstrac t: Based on the site m on itoring resu lts of Zhenyang tunne l in the Q ian jiang to P eng shu i segm ent o f the Y u-X iang h ighw ay, the common rules o f de fo rm ation o f surround ing rock in sup er long tunne l of karsts areas are deeply d iscu ssed, and the in ternal deve lopm en t sta te o f surrounding rock s is revea led. It is emphasized tha t the site mon ito ring of the stab ility is abso lutely necessa ry for the constru ction. By the ana lys is o f m easur ing conve rgence around, vau lt sink m easurem ent, sur- face sub sidence mon ito ring o f the project equ a lm easure from the d isplacem ent- tmi e curve, the character istics o f curves o f d isp lacem ent w ith tmi e in natural typ e, jum p ing typ e, and break ing type are obta ined. The m onitor ing da ta prov e tha t the surrounding rock is steady, w hich can prov ide a reliable techno log ica l reference fo r the tran sf ix ion of the section. K e
