Translating Methods Literal translation , Free translation, Transliteration Domestication/Adaptation or Foreignization / Alienation Literal translation Literal translation: In the course of translation, not alter the original sentence pattern, structure, image, figures of speech. It takes sentences as its basic units and takes the whole text into consideration.
