METHODS ：According to the conception of policy and selection principal in national essential drugs system ，previous national es- sential drugs lists were reviewed to explore the difficulty of the implementation of national essential drugs system ，combined with the condition of the implementation of national essential drug system in China. RESULTS CONCLUSION ：At present ，several aspects haven ’t been completely resolved such as selection of essential drug ，drug pricing ，dispensing of drugs ，drug delivery and rational use of essential drugs. The problems of the implementation of national essential drug system are analyzed and resolved to guarantee the smooth implementation of national essential drugs system and New Medical Reform.
