Teaching aims: talk about disabilities, the life of the disabled, their problems and different ways to solve their problems.
Teaching aids: a tape-recorder and a computer
Teaching steps:
Step1. Greetings.
Good morning class. I am glad to see all of you are healthy. You are really very lucky. Is everyone in the world healthy? Of course not. Some of them are disabled, they may have no ability to speak, hear or walk. Today we will learn disabilities.
Step2: Collect some words that are related to the word—disabilities. Encourage the students to have a competition and see who can find most words. Then collect some typical ones and say something about these words.
Step3.Talk about some famous disabled people in the world .
Steven Hawking: a physicist, can not walk, can not speak, give lectures through a computer, black holes, came to China and Chairman Jiang met him and sang high praise for him
Helen Keller: American woman writer, deaf and blind, never gave up, the first disabled woman who finished college education in Harward
Zhang Haidi: writer, can not walk, study medicine, read many books, help many poor people, brave and optimistic, alive, once sang a song on CCTV, famous all over the world
Zheng Zhihua: singer, can not walk steadily, very attractive voice, weak body but powerful songs, close to life, tell people what is beauty, critical words
