At present, T he H ighgrade T ourist Areas play an increasingly important role in the development of the regional tourism industry, as a result , more and more experts pay attention to it. St udying on the 1984AClass Scenic Spots in the middle area based on the spatial analysis met hods, it is concluded that: ( 1) The Highgrade Tourist Areas have a structure w ith t he characteristics of agglomerat ion both on the interprovincial and provincial levels, and there is a significantly positive correlation betw een the population of cities and the 4Aclass scenic spots; ( 2 ) The spatial distribution of the 4Aclass scenic spots is uneven, concentrating in t he north and south, and H enan province is rich in tourist resources w ith huge advantage.
