位移论文：解读《莫娜在希望之乡》中圣经原型的位移 【中文摘要】《莫娜在希望之乡》是华裔美国作家任碧莲的代表作品。自出版以来,小说对美国少数族裔与众不同的身份定位引起了强烈的社会反响。很多研究者运用后殖民主义研究小说中美国少数族裔对身份的追寻。除此之外,任碧莲在基督教文化潜移默化地影响下,将西方基督教文化的精髓移植到她的小说中,赋予了小说浓厚的宗教色彩,也使得她的作品充满了对人类命运的终极关怀。本篇论文将尝试运用弗莱的位移理论来分析该小说中的圣经原型。论文主体由三部分组成。第一部分讨论的是任碧莲如何将圣经原形人物,例如上帝、摩西、耶稣、亚当和撒旦、夏娃移植到小说中的人物,如莫娜的父母、莫娜、塞斯、阿尔弗莱德及伊维身上,并赋予她们新的内涵和时代特色。此部分旨在探索这些具有摩西式精神的年轻人如何在“上帝”的权威和管辖之下追求自由和平等。第二部分讨论的是小说关于原型意象的位移,例如与小说中的美国社会、煎饼和帐篷相对应的希望之乡、吗哪和帐幕。这一部分旨在揭示出只有开放的美国社会才可以为少数族裔自由与平等的诉求提供实现的土壤,而煎饼与帐篷的意象则分别象征了上帝的爱与约束。论文第三部分是对圣经U型叙事结构的位移,重在展示女主人公莫娜追求自由与平等的曲折过程。这一叙事结构使得小说具有完整性和丰富性。通过对小说中圣经原型位移的分析,本论文旨在揭示圣经人文观念对人类自由与平等的诉求所起到的积极作用。此外,本论文希望在对人类精神进行有意义地探索的同时架起中西方文化交流的桥梁。 【英文摘要】Mona in the Promised Land is the masterpiece of a Chinese-American writer Gish Gen. The distinctive identity orientation for the American minorities has aroused strong social response upon its publication. Many researchers applied the Post-colonialism to studying the American minorities抯earch for their identities. Besides, under the subtle influence of the Christian cultures, Gish Jen integrates its quintessence into her novel, and thus endows the novel with thick religious colors and fulfills her work with ultimate concern about human抯 destiny.This paper attempts to apply Displacement to analyzing the biblical archetypes of the novel. The body of the paper consists of three parts. The first part explores how Gish Jen transplants the biblical characters, such as God, Moses, Jesus, Adam, Satan, Eve into the characters of the novel, such as Mona抯 parents, Mona, Seth, Alfred and Evie, and endows them with new meaning and features of the age. It aims to explore how the young characters with a Moses-style spirit search for freedom and equality under the authority and domination of God.
