The ecological w ater needs provided the foundation for ecological and economic sustainable development. But the absence of ecological w ater needs is more than 80% . In this paper the contribution of agricultural w ater saving to ensure ecological water needs w as studied in detail. In 9 3 present, the total potential capacity of agricultural w ater saving is 4. 3210 m . From agricultural w ater saving, the ensure measures of ecological water needs w ere studied and belived that by considering the whole capacity of w ater saving and South - North Water T ransfer Scheme, ecological w ater needs may be ensured in Haihe basin. : ; ; ; Key words water balance ecological w ater requirement ensure measures Haihe basin
