Increasing aera ion in ensi y can preven he sludge par icles from deposi ing on he membrane surf ace o so me deg ree, and hus crea a high angen ial flow inducing a modif ica- ion of he granulome ric dis ribu ion of he par icle size and a r ise of f ine colloidal par icles and soluble frac ion. M eanw hile an increase of aera ion in ensi y can also enhance he chance of clogging and adsorp ion in he membrane por e, and conse- quen ly by an increase in he pr ocess of membrane fouling. T he r a e of membrane fouling rapidly develop s w i h rising of aera- ion in ensi y in he f irs per iod, follow ing by a slow increase w hen aer a ion in ensi y is fur her enhanced.
