Obj ective T o study the relationships of leptin and the co nitive function in the patients w ith type 2 diabetes mellitus ( T 2DM) . Methods Questionnaires w ere used to evaluate the co nitive function of 85 T 2DM pat ients. Serum leptin and insulin, blood lucose, blood lipid, thyroid st imulatin hormone( T SH ) w ere determined. The patients w ere divided on the basis of leptin ∀ 5 n / ml( roup A) and 5 n / ml( roup B) . The co nition and the factors correlated to leptin w ere analyzed between tw o roups. Results Serum leptin was si nificantly different betw een roups of A and B ( P 005) . Serum level of leptin w as ne atively correlated to composition of picture of mini mental st ate examination ( MM SE ) , vision inference, t he f irst auditory immediat e memory , comparability, mot or testin , and positively correlated to the ri ht numbers of fillin the lack of pictures the w ron numbers and t he expended t ime of cancellin test (P 0 05) .
