Methods A series of 120 primary dentition casts ( 59 normal dentitions, 6 1 deep overbite dentitions) were collected, and classified into normal roup and deep overbite roup accordin to the occlusion type. The tw o roups were measured w ith the computeraided device. The data of measure ment w ere analysed statistically. Results T he mean values of the hei ht of dentition and upper dental arch len th of deep overbite primary dentition were smaller than t hat of normal primary dentition, so did lower dental arch w idth and len th ( P 0. 05) . Conclusion The computeraided measurin device which can increase simplicity , accuracy and in formatics of dental cast measurements is more reproducible than the Vernier a ue. The difference betw een normal and deep overbite primary dent ition has effected on the health of the children, so the dentist should pay more attention to t he deep overbite primary dentition.
