It is a joyful occasion to honor Project Hope, to celebrate the successful partnership between Wuhan University and Project Hope, and to congratulate the 31 students who are graduating today from the Wuhan University HOPE Nursing School. 我很荣幸代表美国驻武汉总领馆参加今天的盛会， 一方面表扬世界健康基金会， 一方面庆贺武汉大学与世界健康基金会的圆满合作，并恭贺武汉大学希望护理学院的31名毕业生完成学业。 In 1958, President Eisenhower donated a US Navy hospital ship, S.S. Hope, to help create Project Hope with the goal of making health care available for people around the globe. Seven years ago, a pioneer Project Hope was created in Wuhan teaming up with one of the most prominent universities in China – Wuhan University. Living up to the motto of “Health Opportunity for People Everywhere,” the project has made great contributions to fighting HIV/AIDS, nursing and preventive dentistry.
