Step 1. Leading in
Show four pictures of famous persons to Ss and talk about them.
E.g. T: Who’s this?
S: This is Michael Jordan.
T: What does he do?
S: He is a basketball player.
Show some words about jobs.
Step 2. Presentation
T: Just now we talked about four famous persons. Next, let’s talk about ourselves. What are you going to be when you grow up? And how are you going to do that?
Show the target language:
What are you going to do when you grow up?

一般将来时:be going to do sth. 表示将要、打算做某事
Step 3. Listening
Listen to the record of 1b and match the items.
Check the answers together.
Step 4. Pair work
Get Ss to practice the conversation in the picture. Then make conversations about the other jobs.
Ask 2 pairs of Ss to show their conversations.
Get all students to read the conversations.
Step 5. Consolidation
Listen to the record of 2a. What is Cheng Han going to do? Check(√) the correct boxes in the pictures.
Listen again. What are Cheng Han’s plans for the future? Fill in the chart.
Check the answers.
