The r esults show ed that at short per iods acceler at ion spectrum could re lect the spectral characteristics o ground oscillation w ell, w hile at long per iods displace- ment spectrum could do that well. T he pr oblem o standardizing or displacement spectrum w as studied. A concept o character ist ic per iods o displacement spectra w as proposed, w hich resulted in r educing the e ects o di erent ground motions on the displacement spectrum shape. Finally , based on standardized displacement spectra calculated under di- erent ground motions, the characteristics o elastic and inelast ic displacem ent spectr a w ere concluded.
