In view of our educational background, we think combining PPP and TBLT is more suitable for Chinese students. That is using different teaching methods according to the study stages.
PPP, the presentation, practice and production teaching model is three teaching processes. First, in the presentation process, the teacher introduce the new language knowledge to students, and try to arouse students’ interest in the text book. Also arouse the curiosity of the students and check students’ understanding. Second,in the practice process, teacher give students many opportunities to practice, encourage students to use the new knowledge as far as possible, repeat and continue to improve the correct rate of language use. Third, in the last production process, the students are required to creative application of knowledge by a new way, try to be flexible and free to use the language correctly and frequently so that achieve the communicative goals. The different steps that require constant conversion of the role of teachers.In three different stages, the control force of teachers to students is reduced continuously from presentation, practice, production. To teachers’ center quickly transition to take the students as the teachers, the role of the teacher has for a actor, spectators and commentators the ultimate realization of student centered, teacher as the new teaching requirements of leading.
TBLT, the task based language teaching based on the basic psychological needs of students that learning is the process of staring, to meet the individual needs of the internal, pay attention to the teaching in the teaching goal on the effective function, the pursuit of students in cognition, emotion and skill on the target equilibrium.
