一、完形填空
Bill and Pearl were a very special couple. One would never know the hardships of life they had gone through 1 you were very close to them. Bill was a quiet man, who was devoted to his beloved Pearl. Pearl was a 2 woman, who 3 “Laughter is the Best Medicine.”

One day, while I was helping Pearl pack, there were boxes everywhere and there were piles of throwaway, piles to pack, piles to keep and piles for charity. As we worked, I kept thinking of their 12 and was on the edge of tears. It hurt so 13 to think of my friend having to give up so much — things that they had worked for all their lives.
