For XP256 starts at top right of the tray beginning with 0, continues left with slots 1 to 3, drops to the lower slots with 4, continues to the right with slots 5 to 7. Think of the letter C for the slot numbering. For other XPs starts at low right of the tray beginning with 0, continues up/down with the next number. This is the same sequence of the installation process. .The DKC has two internal busses, each one duplicated; F-Buss (Fast buss) used for data transfers between the host adapters (Client Host Interface Processors [ CHIP ]) and cache, as well as transfers between cache and the disk drives. M-Buss (Multi-cpu buss) used by processors to control activity in the system. The termination boards perform buss arbitration as well as terminate the busses. The Hot Line Buss connects to all boards, it is used to convey error information, as well as reset control. The internal LAN connects to all boards, the SVP, and the Remote Console. Each board has its own IP address. Do not swap boards; if testing, they must be de-configured first. This line connects from the SVP to all major components. It is used to report back errors, firmware versions and status information. It also allows for firmware upgrades to occur.
