Abstract: Sensors in engine control system re e sily disturbed, s eroengine oper tes in n environment of
high temper ture, high pressure, high speed nd rough vibr tion. Therefore engine me surements cont in nois-
es. On the other h nd, the number of me surements is gre ter th n th t of independent v ri bles in the sys-
tem, which implies th t there is sp re inform tion in the p r meters. Auto ssoci tive neur l network ( AANN)
is introduced to reduce the noise level cont ined through m pping nd decoding process. It is found th t the
noise c n be gre tly filtered to result in higher success r te of f ult di gnosis of eroengine.
