FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Team China Racing and Clean Energy Automotive Engineering Center, Tongji University announce strategic collaboration. - - - th Shanghai, July 9 2014 Steven Lu, CEO of Team China Racing (TCR) and prof Zhang Tong, Director of the Clean Energy Automotive Engineering Center of Tongji University (CEAEC) signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) entering into a strategic collaboration in order to mutually develop engineering talent and cutting edge electric powertrains. They are committed to furthering knowledge in the field of advanced electric powertrains, with electric auto sport as the focus point. The first season (2014/2015) all Formula E teams will all be driving similar cars, the SRT-01e. A consortium of companies builds these cars with McLaren supplying the drive train, Williams the battery, Dallara the chassis and Renault doing system integration. After that season, the Formula E regulations will open up allowing teams to develop and apply their own technology.
