In this paper we will give (2 + 1) dimensional integrable equations of the modiﬁed KdV(mKdV) equation via the Painlev´e test. Let us ﬁrst recall here that the mKd Vequation in (1 + 1) dimensions reads 3 2 vt + vxxx + v vx = 0, (1) 2 ∂v ∂2v where v = v (x, t) and a subscript denotes partial diﬀerentiation, e.g., vx = ∂x , vxx = ∂x2 etc. Higher dimensional integrable equations are not usually unique, in the sense that there exist several equations that reduce to a given one under dimensional reduction.
