Introduction r g : Dirac first worked out the theory of quantizing constrained systems in general[1], and v i general relativity in particular[2], and his pioneering work continues to serve as the X r foundation of current efforts to canonically quantize gravity. Besides the hamiltonian a formalism utilizing the Schr¨odinger representation, there is an alternative Hamiltonian approach which is based on Dirac’s analysis[3] of constrained systems. Many more extensive studies of the subject can be found in the literature; see, for example, Refs. 4 and 5. In this context, we discuss Dirac analysis of geodesic equations for the general cylindrically symmetric stationary spacetimes, and later integrate the obtained first order equations of motion for these spaceti
