I will review the prospects for the de- v tection of this candidate in both accelerator and direct detection searches. 2 9 0 1. Introduction 8 0 Although there are many reasons for considering supersymmetry as a can- 2 didate extension to the standard model of strong, weak and electromagnetic 0 1 / interactions , one of the most compelling is its role in understanding the h hierarchy problem2 namely, why/how is mW ≪ MP . One might think p - naively that it would be sufficient to set mW ≪ MP by hand. However, p radiative corrections tend to destroy this hierarchy. For example, one-loop e h diagrams generate :
