Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine ,Hubei 430061,China [Abstract] Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of holographic acupuncture plus kinetotherapy in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis. Methods Seventy-two patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 38 cases and a control group of 34 cases. The treatment group received holographic acupuncture plus kinetotherapy and the control group, local conventional acupuncture. The VAS score was counted and shoulder joint function and activity were scored in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in VAS, shoulder joint function and activity score difference values between the treatment and control groups (P ＜0.05). The total efficacy rate was 97.4% in the treatment group and 85.3% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P ＜0.05).
