An efficient and accurate approach for analyzing the elasto- plastic seismic response of steel frames and concrete core-
tu e hy rid structure( SFCTHS) is explored through experimental study and theoretical analysis. Elasto-plastic finite
wall elements with smeared cracks and elasto-plastic finite strips are employed for the analysis of the different zones of
the shear walls according to the stress distri ution. Elasto-plastic hinge model is used to solve elasto-plastic ehavior of
steel eam.T hrough calculating structure examples,the cracking characteristics of shear walls and theweak aspects of
the hy rid structure under earthquakes and winds are revealed. Furthermore, the parameter study on storey drifts of
SFCTHS shows that it is not appropriate that the storey drift limits given y the code do not consider the effects of
shear deformation.
