The cooling of LNG storage tank is the greatest risk phase in the debugging process and most difficult to control. This article describes the cooling process, the requirement conditions before cooling and precautions for the first LNG storage tank at LNG receiving terminal during the first ship unloading. By discussing the trends of the storage tank temperature, the flow of the cooling spray, the cooling rate and the maximum temperature difference of temperature monitoring points in storage tank, we obtain two conclusions. Also pointing out that in the cooling process is prone to excessive pipeline deformation blocked the pipeline flange junction leakage, uneven storage tank temperature drop and the flare system effusion, and then providing the corresponding solution.
