This paper comparatively analyzes the development and present status of different cities in China and abroad and introduces the research emphasis of the urban traffic struc ture from four aspects , the urban spatial layout and traffic development mode , the relationship of urban land use and traffic structure , the traffic structure optimization model , and the competition of public transit and private traf fic .
