Abstract School psychologists are traine professionals with knowle ge in psychology an e ucation. They
collaborate with e ucators, parents, an other professionals to create safe, healthy, an supportive learning en-
vironments for all stu ents. This article provi e a review on the current status of school psychologists in theUnit-
e State. Issues such as the characteristics of school psychologists, the roles an functions of school psycholo-
gists, an training programswere iscusse in etail. Un erstan ing the professional features of school psycholo-
gist in the U. S. has practical implications for constructing Chinese school mental health e ucation system.
