A bstract: Th is paper introduces the evo lut ion process of financial innovation theo ry, from techn ica l
advancem ent theory to financia l interm ediary theory, furthermo re, from financial interm ediary theory
to f inanc ial innovation theory. It also po ints out that it w ill be the developm en t tendency to u se gam e
theory, behav ior finance and expermi ental f inance to expla in financial innovation theory, w ith w estern
