Sino—USEnglishTeaching,ISSN 1539—8072 September2014,Vo1.11,No.9,631-638 … N碍 M otivationDrama OpeningtheTextinaClassroom KatriKarasma UniversityofTurku,Turku,Finland Dramaisanimportantareainteachingofmothertongue.Itshouldbeasimportantaslanguageandliterature.The teacherneedsdramaasatoolofmotivationandasacommonexerciseforallpupils.Indevelopinganew method, interview drama,theauthorhasuseddesign-basedresearchtellingaboutthreesamples,wherethereisdocument aboutitsadvantages.Themethodhasbeendevelopedsince1996anduseditwithseveralgroups(adultstudent teachersandyoungpupils).Asatexttheauthorhasusedfairytales,novels,HamletandKalevala.With Finnish2一sutdentswehavereadBibiMovesintoFinlandandwriterKariHotakainen’snovelIhmisenosa (The HumanFortune).Thestudentshavewrittenpositivelyabouthteinterview rdamaintheirlearninglogs.Also assessmentsconcerninghtemethodhavebeenpositive.Itisafunnymethod.Itisnotpossibletofulfillwihtout laughter.Studentteachers(n90)evaluatedhtemethodwithLikenscale1-5.Themeanwas4,00.Theysaid:very nice;Ishalluseit;very useufl;phantastic;veryinteresting;deepenshtetextandmakesitverylively.Onlyafew wereastonished.isitpossibletousedramaintheuniversity.
