SECTION 09910 – PAINTING MODIFICATIONS GENERAL PREAMBLE The following modifies the referenced specification section 09915, dated 04/03/01, issued by the Chrysler, AAME Building Group. Where a portion of the referenced specification is modified or deleted, the unaltered portions of the specification section shall remain in effect. Paint exposed surfaces, except where the paint schedules indicate that a surface or material is not to be painted or is to remain natural. If the paint schedules do not specifically mention an item or surface, paint the item or surface the same as similar adjacent materials or surfaces if schedules do not indicate color. C. ETI-101 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APPLICATION AND REQUESTING OF NON-PRODUCTION RESTRICTED PART NUMBERS; ETI-102 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APPLICATION AND REQUESTING OF NON-PRODUCTION HAZARDOUS AND POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS MATERIAL; ETI-103 ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF MACHINE TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, DIES, FIXTURES AND NON-PERISHABLE TOOLS AND SUPPLIES D. If the OEM proposes to use solvent based paints, the supplier must identify this within the ETI-103 submission. Also, all solvent based paints must be third party tested and reported to Chrysler to be below a 0.0001% by weight of all paints for Mercury, Lead, Hexavalent Chrome and Cadmium. All testing shall be funded by the OEM. If solvent based paints are used, they must be able to be touched up at Chrysler’s site with water based paint and shall match both color and gloss. Supplier must demonstrate the application of the water based paint touch up before authorizing the shipment of the machine. COLORS C.
