The disease occurs almost entirely in women, but men can get it, too. Breast cancer classification includes grading, staging, and determination of the hormonal status of cancer. This information helps the physician to plan treatment, determine your prognosis, evaluate the results of cancer treatment, and standardize communication among healthcare providers for consultation, referral, and research. Grading is based on the microscopic structure of the tumor. It is the visual appearance of the cells. The pathologist is finds out how the cell compares to normal cells.
