Abstract
The mass transit system is the most common solution of urban traffic problem around the world. It is constructed to alleviate congested highways and to provide the efficient mass transportation. One of the critical design issues in construction mass transit system in the tunnel is that the tunnel section is the interface of rail vehicle and tunnel. The analysis of Kinematic Vehicle Gauge (KVG) is to determine the cut of cross section area and the arrangement of facility in the tunnel. The KVG must be feasible, if not, the cost of construction is over-budget and the ride quality of passengers is sacrificed, and the collision of rail vehicle and tunnel or the rail vehicle and platform occurs as well. The objective of this paper is to present modeling and simulation of the dynamic response of the rail vehicle when it subjected to road roughness excitation.
