Abstract In the competition of industry, Industry Cluster has become the main industry space vector against the background of globalization and regionalization. As an important way to participating industrial progress, developing the agricultural product processing industry is vital for underdeveloped region to shake off poverty and back wardness and carry out economic take-off. By the thought of industry cluster, rational program and layout undeveloped region's agricultural product processing industry, which has an important theoretical and practical significance for undeveloped region's development. This paper based on a typical undeveloped region-Anding region of Dingxi City of Gansu Province, combining domestic and abroad relevant experience of fostering and developing industry clusters, analysising the formation mechanism of Anding region potato processing industry, by means of quantitative indicator and GIS technology measuring the cluster's assemblage current status. The analysis and discussion are focused on industry cultivation and space reorganization of Anding region potato processing industry. Additionally, from the macro, meso-and-micro levels, the support system of this industry cluster growth was discussed. Finally, a number of recommendations and strategies about future development and cultivation of Anding region potato processing industry cluster were made. Through analysing it can be obtained that the development of Anding region potato processing industry cluster mainly rely on industrial fostering and space optimizing.
