A major focus in the past several years has been to improve the overall performance of our API ion source and ion optics with the goal of improving overall sensitivity performance and simplifying optimization routines. We have accomplished a very nice 5 to 10X sensitivity increase which we will be rolling into our products in the later part of the coming year. Another focus is to add value and productivity by improving the software tools for turning data into useful information. We will be talking in more detail on tools which we are focusing on in ion trap and those which will be developed in the future. Various polymer additives are formulated with the packaging films to modify the properties of the film, protect the film during the extrusion process, and aid the movement of the film and packaging of the product through automated packing machines. Analytical methods employing Atmospheric Pressure Ionization (API) LC/MS were developed for the polymer additives.
