The 3rd International Annual Conference on Teaching Management and Curriculum Construction Study on Teaching Case of Project Management Information System Li WANG, Na XU, Jianping WANG School of Mechanics Civil Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, China Abstract: The course of project management information system is offered for engineering management specialty. It not only focuses on theoretical knowledge, but also emphasizes the comprehensive analysis ability. Through analyzing the characteristics of the course, it points out that the case teaching method is suitable for this course. Then it presents a teaching case upon the background of a college basic construction engineering. The content of the teaching case involves various links of structured system development process, including: application of key success factor method during system planning; analysis of organization / business relations, business process and data flow analysis during system analysis; design of system architecture, function module and process during system design; and design of the E-R diagrams, data dictionary, the relational data model in database design. At last, it puts forward suggestions to organize the case teaching process.
