Normally in electronics industry too many kinds and huge volume of electronics components inventory becomes the most critical problem for cost saving. How to reduce the inventory cost without bringing the production issue, this becomes the high priority issue needed to solve. The new components inventory management strategy Vendor Managed Inventory system brings this idea and solution to reduce the manufacturers’ inventory and keep the high production speed. It’s pretty needed to implement VMI that EMS manufacturers and components vendors share the inventory between each other. And it’s the key point to implement the VMI system as well. So far, lots of VMI researches have been done about the business requests and problems of the supply chain management, while researches for information system integration are still needed.
