Abstract The successful applications of the database management system in the library management, makes the library management become simple, efficient and perfect order, meet the administrators and readers’ request. With the increasing of students in colleges and universities, the number of books in the library is also gradually increased. A large of books’ data was stored in library. However, these data was simply stored in the database not to be fully used to mine useful information for decision-making in order to help librarians manage more the book the more rational and effective. It is impossible to achieve with the developments of modern colleges and universities. It was powerless that the original database management system in providing decision support for the administrators. In order to meet the teachers and students to the librarys needs, making the management of the library meet the actual needs, the decision support system that was based on the data warehouse was able to make full use of the book data and change the book date into the effective decision-making information up with the data mining technology, so as to provide the important basis for the librarians’ decision-making.
