ABSTRACT:A novel singleended fault locat ion met hod , called

t ype F, is presented in this paper, by which the fault location is
determined by t he time delay measured at the relaying point be t = 0
tw een fault switchingoff induced initial travelling wave surge , ,
and the corresponding reflected wave from the fault point. The
t heory analysis and EMTP simulation show that the presented

method is independent on the reflected waves coming from the
remote discontinuity on the faulty transmission Line.
