This t e hnique has a potential of improving spray atomization at lower inje tion pressure than onventional inje - tion pressure and redu e the ost of fuel inje t ion system dramati ally. Another potential appli ation is to a- hieve fine spray by assist ing high-pressure inje tion system w ith ele trostat i at omization devi e. A model- ing analysis for the se ondary breakup of harged fuel droplets w as given. Using Weber number as riteri- on, several fa tors that influen e the breakup pro ess are also analyzed and the theoreti al boundary for ele - tro-breakup w as obtained, they are the relationship betw een the rit i al harge-mass ratio and diameter of t he droplets, the quant itative relationship betw een influen ing fa tors and riti al harge-mass ratio .
