As compared to CMs, RUM does not restrict itself to specified and identifiable users. As it is a server side solution, using a probe, we listen in on the incoming HTTP traffic from users across all Ips and locations.The probe sits at the switch and reports into a Real User Engine which feeds Performance information to the BAC. The RUM engine reconstructs the round trip time, Availability, Errors, that transpire from the analysis of packets. The probe is non-intrusive and is plugged into the same switch as the applications web servers as user traffic passes by, the probe listens to every request and response to and from the web server. It does not add any additional traffic.The data is tracked all the way from the user domain to the webs server Data is analysed to see if specific domains and user locations are having any issues or what are the abandonment rates. Data is processed to extract key metrics With RUM, one can quantify the business impact of performance problems and prioritize resolution efforts.
