It has been held annually for the last 23 years. It has played a critical role in promoting database related education, research and development in China. It is CCF DBS objective to improve the paper selection process and conference organization so that NDBC can become one of the leading database conferences in the new millennium. * * Visiting Database Lab. of Renmin U. of China Before the joint meeting, the representatives of DBSJ visited the database laboratory of Renmin University accompanied by Prof. Xiaoyong Du. Prof. Du introduced the details of several ongoing projects undertaken by the Lab, such as study and development of a high performance database system, information retrieval system based on grid technology. In addition, the representatives of DBSJ visited the comprehensive information technology laboratory and the public laboratory of School of Information, Renmin U. of China.
