In this paper we pro pose a novel adaptive translation unit construction ( ATUC) algorithm. With hardw are support , ATUC monitors the execution o the source architecture programs and dynamically adjusts the translation units according to the ex ecution behavior characteristics o the programs . A hardware bu er is introduced to assist the binary translation so tw are to detect continuou sly committed addresses. ATUC improves the e iciency o the translated code w hile guaranteeing the high success ex ecution ratio o the translated code segments. Sim ulation results o the SPECint2000 benchmark show that ATUC has up to 31% per ormance advantages over other translation unit con struction methods.
