This paper studies the accumulative stratum landslide in W anzhou and then analyzes the characteristics of the accumulative stratum landslide, sources of matter, causes, form ing mode and deform ing- destructing characteristics of the accumulative stratum landslide in horizontal stra tum. The characteristics of landslide body and bed are then summarized. Falling accumulation is prmi ary and dilu vium and alluvium are subordinate to the accumulative stratum landslides in horizontal stratum. The form ing mode have six steps: a) cliffy form ing, b) landslide bed form ing, c) bottom matter of landslide body form ing, d) soil and stone form ing and, e) the surfacem atter form ing and disaggregating. The deform ing- destructing characteris tics are as follow s: several shear zones can exist in the accumulative stratum landslides. A t the same tmi e, defor m ing velocity and accumulating deformation in different areas are various in the accumulative stratum landslides. K ey
