Growing male and female broilers separately allows companies to capitalize on the natural growth and developmental differences between the sexes and tailor their nutritional programs. It also enables different requirements for broilers within the same market to be met more efficiently [e.g. fast-feathering females can be grown to supply small birds (rotisserie) and males for larger birds (deboning)].
