Clinical Study on Curing Non-proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy with Tang Wang Jianji Speciality: Endocrinology of TCM Author: Yang na Tutor: Zhang dexian Abstract Objective : To evaluate the efficiency of Tang Wang Jianji for treatment of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) and investigate the mechanism of Tang Wang Jianji for Shugan Jieyu and Huayu Tongluo. Methods: 67 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus concurrent with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy were clinically gathered and randomly divided into the treatment group treated with Tang Wang Jianji and the control group treated with Calcium Dobesilate Capsules. Curative effects were observed objectively. The sight 、fundus photography and fundus fluorescence angio- graphy were detected before and after 12 week′s treatment. Results: ①Two groups can improve traditional Chinese symptom, but the improvement of the treated group is significantly better than the control group; ②Two groups can improve sight, but the result were not significant between two groups; ③Two groups can absorb the blood and ooze of retina, improve the capillary circulation of retina, and the improvement the treated group is significantly better than the control group;④Two groups can restrain the growth of VEGF and ET, and the treated group is better than the control group. Conclusions: Tang Wang Jianji can improve symptom、sight and pathology of retina, so it can be regarded as the efficacious medicament for treatment of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
