The Study of Ancient Medical Literature on the attending application of Hegu(LI 4) Acupoint Speciality: Acupuncture and Moxibustion Author: Chen Dongdong Tutor: Zhang Yongchen Abstract Objective：To provide theoretical and practical basis by summarizing the laws from analyzing the descriptions of Hegu(LI 4) acupoint in the ancient medical literatures.Method ：Using the Statistics Methods to analyzing the database established by Computer searches of 《Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine》.Result ：Summarize the 27 kinds of the HF conditions of Hegu(LI 4) and the compatibility acupoints of the conditions;The top four compatibility acupoints are Zusanli(ST 36),Quchi(LI 11),Baihui(DU 20),Sanyinjiao(SP 6) among the 203 acupoints which can combine with Hegu(LI 4).The bladder meridian has the most compatibility points and the highest frequency while pericardium meridian has the highest average frequency of the compatibility points;Hegu(LI 4)-Fuliu(KI 7),Hegu(LI 4)-Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Hegu(LI 4)-Quchi(LI 11) are the top two pair points;The quantification for moxibustion is three zhuang while the most common depth of needling is needle-third and the time for Acupuncture is six breath.Conclusion：Hegu(LI 4) Has wide main indications and various compatible acupoints while the compatible acupoints and the operational methods have Strong regularity.This study is expected to have certain reference significance to the Clinical application of Hegu(LI 4).
