Disagreement on “Comparison” It is beyond any doubt that both French School and American School share a lot in common as far as the history and purpose of this discipline are concerned. Yet, we should not deny that there is much more serious disagreement over the objects, methods and programs of comparative literature. A case in point is their different recognition of “comparison”.
