Minutes and Discussions
There were a lot of discussions on making SSA a generic module and incorporating that in the BS
Gerald Chouinard explained that the SSA is only used for out of band sensing
Apurva felt that this would mean that we are creating two drivers that run the SSF. One for in-band and out of band sensing. There is going to be a conflict as to who accesses the SSF.
Winston said that as we had envisioned, all the intelligence needs to reside at the SM
Apurva said that just by assigning the in-band sensing responsibility to SM, it does not mean that SM does not have the intelligence. SM has way too many things to take care of – accessing and implementing the policies, tracking CPE capabilities and geolocation, channel set management, access to the incumbent database, scheduling quiet periods, co-existence. It does not need one more responsibility of accessing the SSFs of various CPEs.
