Grammar A. Using object clause or object +object complements 二、用“…enough +不定式”结构可以将含有so …that …引导的结果状语从句(肯定)的复合句转变为简单句。例如: 1. The girl is so tall that she can reach the apples on the tree. → 2. This hall is so large that it can hold 2000 people. → 3. The table was so light that the little boy can carry it. → 三、用“in order +不定式”或“so as +不定式”结构可以将含有so that 引导的目的状语从句的复合句转换为简单句。如: 1. She is working hard these days so that she could pass the English exams. → → 2. I went over my composition again and again so that I couldn’t make any mistakes. → → 3. Mary bought a camera so that she could take pictures in Beijing. → → 四、句型转换 1. Mrs Huang saw that a car was running towards the building. (改为简单句) 2. The problem is not easy enough for them to do. (改为复合句) 3. She really doesn’t know which apple she should take. (改为简单句) 4. The young man is very strong and he can carry the heavy box. (改为简单句) 5. May was so tired that she couldn’t walk any farther. (改为简单句) 拓展 so that 引导目的状语从句时,可用in order that/in order to/so as to /to来替换。 We got up early so that we could catch the early bus. =We got up early in order that we could catch the early bus. =We got up early in order to catch the early bus. =We got up early so as to catch the early bus. =We got up early to catch the early bus. * 1. They found that the box was very heavy. 2. I see they are cleaning the classroom. 当主句的谓语动词是think,find,see,watch,hear等时,从句常简化为“宾语+补语补足语”,也称为复合宾语结构。 They found the box very heavy. 一.用“及物动词+宾语+宾语补足语”结构可以将含有that引导的 某些宾语从句的复合句转换成简单句 I see them cleaning the classroom. → → 3.
